Ridiculous articles like this contribute to the MASSIVE misperception about +Google Glass by the publicI’ve been wearing Glass EVERY day, ALL day since the beginning of October. Glass runs my life every single day from phone calls, texts, Twitter, FB, email, alerts, etc. I even control the lights in my house #throughglass . I’ve traveled to conferences across the countryI truly believe that I probably wear Glass most often than any other Glasshole. I am the #1 Glasshole. In all my time wearing Glass, I’ve received one kind request. Only ONE, and that was from a repugnant looking +Costco cashier who asked me not to take pictures of him (not that I ever would want to cherish transaction with a photo).The overwhelming response by everyone else is how fascinating or different Glass is. I find people interested in learning more about Glass and requesting to try it on (of course I’m happy to let anyone try it on). The question I do get is “Do you get kicked out of restaurants and theatres?” or “Have you gotten a ticket for driving with Glass?” The answer to these questions and also this article is “NO.” People are not scared of Glass, people don’t shun or treat me differently.Of course there are people who don’t understand it, but not once has anybody reacted negatively. Kids have it made these days…Back when I was wee young lad, I had Tinker Toys, Legos and learned about computers and coding on a Radioshack TRS-80 (among other devices). Nowadays, kids have TinkerBots and can learn to code with visual languages. He was so curious and interested in Glass. Absolutely transfixed, he asked me everything about it, then tried it on and played and played and played! He loved it! First I had him go through the same demo I give everyone. I have them say, “Okay Glass, Take a picture” — it understands pretty much every accent around the world as far as I can tell. This always makes people freak out with excitement when they see the photo they just took floating as a hologram in front of their eyes. Then he started using it more and more, going through all my emails, watching videos, seeing my text messages, asking Google questions, checking weather… I mean it just went on and on and on… and then he started showing all his friends and telling them about it — he was so excited. Naturally, he was happy for me to take his photo while he was playing!We ended up talking about a bunch of different things. I even bought an old used knife from him, and he showed me how to stick the curved end of it into a camel’s hump to get water in an emergency. There’s another part of the knife you use to seal up the little puncture wound. Then we talked about mediation, the sealing of the four cardinal spiritual doors in the night before entering the tent, different cultures around the world, and well, about a dozen other things.
